About Chris McLaughlin CMC
Chris McLaughlin CMC is a damp proofing and plastering business based in Coventry, founded in 1988 by Chris McLaughlin. The business treats rising damp, woodworm and wet rot, and carries out plastering work after damp treatments. Services include internal plastering, plasterboarding, skimming, patch repairs, full-room finishes and overboarding. Renovating plasters and sand and cement renders are used, and timber floor replacement is offered if required.
CMC covers Coventry and the surrounding areas. Chris trained as a professional plasterer after working for one of the UK's largest privately owned damp and timber treatment companies, where he gained knowledge of rising damp and timber treatments. Rising damp is treated using an injection method into the first mortar line above floor level. Defective plaster is removed back to brickwork between 80 and 90 centimetres high, a damp course injection is carried out, and the area is re-plastered with a Rendaid base coat and skimmed with a finish plaster coat the following day. Work is carried out with precision and care, from quick patch repairs to complete room finishes.
