For the trade
Verify your listing
Most listings here were built from public sources and nobody has claimed them, which is what the dotted mark means. Claiming yours puts a solid one in its place, and the difference is a phone call.
What the check is
Somebody rings the number already published on your page and asks you to confirm what is on it. Not a number you give us on this form: the one that is there now, which came from a public source rather than from whoever filled this in. That is the whole check, and it is the reason it means anything.
- the number on this page reaches the business
- the trading name is the one the business uses
- the address is where the business works from
- the jobs listed are jobs they take on
- the towns listed are towns they work in
What it is not
It is not a judgement of your work, and the site will never write it as one. There is no register of plasterers in the United Kingdom, no licence to hold and no body that could have approved anybody, so a directory claiming to have vetted your competence would be claiming to have done something that cannot be done. The guide on choosing a plasterer says the same thing at greater length and is worth the four minutes.
It does not move you up a page either. Listings are ordered by how recently they were checked and how complete they are, and a mark beside a name changes neither. Position is not for sale here and this did not change that.
The marketplace boxes
Your page can show whether you take work through Taskerama or Checkatrade. Neither is linked and neither is checked by us: the box is ticked when you say so and not otherwise, so an empty box means we have not been told rather than that you are not there. Tick them below. This is free and separate.
What it costs, and what stays free
The check is paid for, because it is somebody’s time on the telephone and there is no other way to do it. Being listed stays free, correcting your entry stays free, and asking to come off stays free and unconditional. If you want any of those, the correction form is the faster route and nobody will try to sell you anything on the way.
This form takes a request and nothing else. There is no price on this page, no card details are asked for anywhere on this site, and no money changes hands through it. You send the request, somebody replies with the figure and how long a check stands for, and your listing does not change until you have said yes to both. Deciding against it after reading the reply costs nothing and is not held against the listing.
Nobody has been through this yet, so there is no verified listing on the site to look at.
This form fills itself in when you open it from your own listing page. Find your town, then your entry, then the dotted mark beside the name.
