About The Brighton Plasterer
The Brighton Plasterer is run by James, a plastering, rendering and damp proofing specialist in Brighton and Hove. He quotes, prices and carries out all work himself. He hacks off failed plaster and applies backing coats to bring walls true, then finishes them flat and ready for decorating. He re-skims walls where the background is sound and repairs lath and plaster ceilings. Boarding over ceilings is the cheaper answer in the long run for ceilings that have come away from the laths more widely. Exterior rendering includes sand and cement, monocouche and through-coloured silicone systems specified to suit the property's exposure and construction. Damp proofing starts with diagnosis using moisture readings and external inspection, then installs injected damp proof courses, tanking systems or breathable lime re-plastering. He advises when the real fix is guttering or ventilation rather than a damp course.
The business covers Brighton and Hove, Worthing, Newhaven, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, and villages including Lancing, Southwick, Hassocks, Saltdean and Rottingdean. James works on Regency and Victorian period properties, 1930s housing and new build. He remains the point of contact throughout, bringing in help where a job needs more hands. The written quote is the price unless the job changes or hidden damage emerges. Floors and furniture are sheeted, doorways sealed where dust would travel, tools cleared at the end of each day and all waste taken away.
