About R KEATING & SONS
R Keating & Sons is a preservation contractor based in Ely, in Cambridgeshire. The business describes its work as plastering, overskimming and cellar tanking, and offers its services to domestic and commercial customers throughout Cambridgeshire.
The website gives over 40 years of experience in dealing with rising damp, wet and dry rot in timber, insect infestation and related issues, and shows damp proofing and re-plastering projects undertaken by the team.
Timber treatments are described in detail. Insect infestation can be treated with insecticidal fluids, while fungal decay caused by wet or dry rot may need the most severely decayed wood removed and the remaining timber preserved. For dry rot, the source of the damp is addressed, whether that is rising damp from a defective dampcourse, leaking internal pipework, or water entering through leaking gutters, downpipes or defective external render. Woodworm, the larvae of wood boring beetles, is also covered. The business says it adapts to the needs of each job.
