About Ossett Mouldings Ltd
Ossett Mouldings Ltd is a decorative plaster specialist based in Dewsbury, established in 1973 and incorporated as a limited company in 1990. The business makes and installs fibrous plaster, GRG (Glass Reinforced Gypsum), GRP (Fibre Glass) and GRC (Glass Reinforced Cement) products. Services include decorative plasterwork, bespoke mouldings, restoration of plasterwork to historic buildings, modelling, carving, sculpting and casting of original shapes and objects.
The business maintains a range of standard moulding designs and makes products to client specification. Work covers new build, restoration, civic premises, hotels, housing, museums, film sets, restaurants, town halls, pubs and shopfitting, for both commercial and residential properties. Ossett Mouldings trades throughout the UK and Northern Europe, with over 10,700 reference jobs since 1973, including 2,170 trade clients.
All staff are fully trained, skilled and qualified craftsmen employed directly by the company. Work begins with consultation to develop a scheme that suits the client's requirements and budget, followed by a detailed written quotation with illustrative sketches if helpful. Once designs, conditions and costs are agreed, the company carries out installation using its own staff. Everything is made in the company's own Yorkshire workshop. The business uses sustainable softwood and relies mainly on hand tools rather than powered equipment or machinery. Ossett Mouldings operates from premises originally constructed in 1852 as a blacksmith's forge, with a two-storey addition from around 1903.
