O'Connells Drywall Contractors Ltd is a family-run drylining business based in Sittingbourne. It has traded since 1978 and completes over 1,200 plots annually for developers across Kent and the South East. The business installs drylining to metal and timber partitions, suspended ceiling systems, system membranes, internal wall insulation and acoustic systems in new-build housing developments. It also delivers thermal and specialist rendering, including Ashlar finishes, and provides floor screeding services for new build projects.
The company works for developers including Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes, Redrow Homes and Croudace Homes on large-scale residential developments. O'Connells is led by John O'Connell as Managing Director, supported by Sam as Construction Director overseeing site operations and Bradley as HR Director responsible for workforce management. The business is rooted in generations of family plastering tradition. John's father was apprentice-trained and all seven of his sons became involved in plastering. John joined the business full-time and gained experience across installation, supervision, materials coordination and client liaison. He purchased full ownership in March 2008 and relocated to purpose-built offices with dedicated training rooms and expanded storage in Sittingbourne.
