About Hickey Ltd
Hickey Ltd is a plastering and dry lining business based in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. It carries out domestic and commercial plastering work across the South East, including plaster skimming, traditional lime rendering, Monocouche renders, metal stud partitioning, suspended ceilings, floor screeding and raised flooring. The business has worked on housing developments, office buildings, hotels, nursing homes and retail conversions.
Domestic work includes re-skimming internal walls and ceilings, and lime rendering for listed buildings. The business has trained teams in traditional lime render application at Ty Mawr Training School in Wales and has worked with English Heritage on Grade 2 listed barn conversions in Berkhamsted. Monocouche renders are applied using products from Weber, Parex and K Rend, and silicone-based renders are fitted over external insulation systems.
Commercial projects involve metal stud partitions ranging from 70mm to 146mm, with acoustic partitions for flat blocks in West Drayton and St Albans. Large walls up to 16 metres high and 40 metres long receive tape and jointed finishes. Recent work includes One Hotel in Mayfair, a 181-bed five-star hotel completed in December 2022, and office walls for Harmonix Construction in Witham, Essex in early 2023. The business has also completed work at Crossrail in Ilford, Watford Fire Station and North Pole Depot. Operatives hold mechanical platform training for scissor lifts and cherry pickers.
