About Durrant & Daughter
Durrant & Daughter is a family-run plastering business based in Wells. Jon Durrant has worked in construction for more than 20 years, mostly as a plasterer on new builds, renovations and commercial projects, and is also a qualified Building Surveyor. Lottie Durrant started in construction in 2004 and is a British Gypsum trained plasterer. Both have been trained by Master Plaisterers and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings to apply lime renders and plasters. Jon has worked for a local ornamental plastering company and has repaired ornamental plaster in West End theatres. He is an Assistant Tutor on SPAB Lime Plastering and Ornamental Plastering Courses.
The business covers Radstock, Midsomer Norton, Bath, Bristol, Shepton Mallet, Frome and Wells. Services include solid plastering, skimming and re-skimming, plasterboarding and drylining, partition walls and wall linings, gypsum plaster repairs, rendering and render repairs, lime plaster and render repairs, ornamental plasterwork repairs, sandstone repairs and lime re-pointing. Work begins with an enquiry form including dimensions and photos, followed by a budget estimate and site visit. A detailed estimate is then sent. On the first day the property is protected with floor protection and dust sheets. Trade quality materials are used throughout. At the end of each day the property is left clean and tidy. Rubbish is bagged or placed in a skip. Payment is by bank transfer on completion.
